If you run a commercial property or holiday destination, the visual appearance is all important to customers perceptions. Unwanted weeds seem to grow rapidly everywhere you don't want them to grow. This will affect the visual impact of your property or commercial site. Leave it looking unsightly and unloved.
Effective weed control through professionally targeted applications of a herbicide at key times of the years, will not only kill the visual part of the unwanted vegetation, it will also over time be absorbed and distributed into the roots. This will kill the overall plant so that it won't grow back.
The spraying of Kerb Edges, Block Paving, Pathways, Hard Standings, Stone Dressed Areas is an effective way of controlling the problem.
The spraying of herbicides on commercial properties or public areas has to be done by a fully qualified person. Jamie's Garden Services is fully NPTC Qualified (PA1, PA6, Stem Injection, and AW), and Insured to supply Weed Control Services to Commercial and Residential Sites

Invasive plants in a lawn are often referred to as broadleaf weeds and thankfully this is not a major problem.
Broadleaf weeds wreck grass lawns and they can take a hold surprisingly quickly if they are not treated. Thankfully this problem can be remedied fairly easily over a period of time with professional grade herbicides that won’t kill the grass.
Jamie's Garden Services can help you regain control of your lawn. Due to the nature of how broadleaf weeds spread you will never completely eradicate the problem. But when managed correctly and with regular treatments you can have a weed free lawn.
With a treatment plan in place, this will involve the spraying of the lawn with a broad leaf weed herbicide in the spring or towards the end of the summer. Then after a few days the lawn is ready to be cut. The chemical treatment encourages the broadleaf plants to grow at a rate that is unsustainable. With regular cuts the plant will eventually die of exhaustion.
Broadleaf Weeds That Invade Lawns Are:
- Daisy
- Parsley Piert
- Red Clover
- Greater Plantain
- Creeping Cinquefoil
- Creeping Thistle
- Scarlet Pimpernel
- Autumn Hawkbit
- Common Ragwort
- Broad-leaved Dock
- Crowfoot
- Bristly-ox Tongue
- Horsetail
- Ground Ivy
- Mayweed
- Doves-foot Cranesbill
- Ribwort Plantain
- White Clover
- Dandelion
- Creeping Buttercup
- Black Medic
- Birds-foot Trefoil
- Lesser Trefoil
- Yarrow
- Selfheal
- Slender Speedwell
- Germander Speedwell
- Mouse-ear Chickweed
- Common Chickweed
- Procumbent Pearlwort
- Cats Ear
- Buckshorn Plantain
- Knotgrass
- Lesser Celandine
- Goosegrass
Moss
Although Moss is not a broadleaf weed it is still a major problem in most Mid Wales lawns due to a number of factors:
- ph Levels / Acidic Soil
- Continually Damp Soil / Poor Drainage
- Soil Content / Low Soil Fertility
- Drainage / Clay Content
- Compacted Soils / Needs Aeration
- To Much Shade
Jamie's Garden Services can also help you kill off all the Moss. Although other control measures will be needed.
When a Moss Treatment has been applied, the Moss will die off over a few weeks. You will know when this has happened, because it will go brown in colour. You will then need to get the dead Moss out of the lawn. This can be done with a rake for small lawns. For larger lawns, this would involve Scarification, Soil Treatments, Aeration, Top Dressing and Reseeding with fresh grass seed.
Because lawns are cut so regularly, they don't get a chance to reseed themselves. This means that lawns should be over seeded annually to ensure that the grass remains healthy.
Lawns in Mid Wales suffer for a number of reasons and this also allows Moss and broadleaf weeds to creep in and further damage your lawn.
This is due to a number of factors:
- ph Levels / Acidic Soil
- Continually Damp Soil / Poor Drainage
- Soil Content / Low Soil Fertility
- Drainage / Clay Content
- Compacted Soils / Needs Aeration
- To Much Shade
Applying lawn feed treatments helps provide your lawn with the nourishment it needs to reach its optimum potential. Modern high quality slow release fertiliser is great for use throughout the growing season, due to the steady supply of essential nutrients, helps to build strength right down to the roots, absorbing water and nutrients. Your lawn will be visibly greener after just one week and will stay thicker for months. Quality brand granular lawn feed products will not cause surge growth, so there’s no need to worry about a huge increase in mowing.
