A local Mid Wales school had an issue with weed around their building and other areas that was making their site look visually unattractive. While doing a site survey to provide weed control services. It also became apparent that there was also a greater issue with an invasive plant species that was spreading around the grounds of the property.

A weed control treatment plan was put in place for both the general weed issues and also the invasive plants to prevent their spread and eradication. The site is looking much nicer and both weed issues are now fully under control within a two year period.

Jamie's Garden Services recently undertook Weed Control Services job for Powys Teaching Health Board at Llandrindod Wells Hospital and a number of other sites after it had been left for a number of years .

These tasks consist of the following services:

- Areas of hard standings, kerb edges, slabbed pathways and stone dressed areas were sprayed with a non-pasistant herbicide.

Where weeds are up against buildings, fences and other structures. It is often be hard to remove the weeds without causing other damage. 

Weeds appearing in area of patios or paved walk-ways, they can often lift slabs and cause trip issues. The cost of having slabs relayed can also be very expense. 

Where weed are allowed to form and thrive  in areas of Tarmac, they will expand and start to break up the tarmac. This can also result in large area having to be relaid at vast expense.

These infestations can also lead to other issues like insect infestation that can then migrate into your property. In heavy infestations of weeds and bramble, it can often also be a haven for Rats and Mice.

A Local Authority site in Mid Wales had a public area of new grass that became affected with an intense Clover infestation that was causing the grass too thin out. A broad leaf weed treatment that does not affect the grass was sprayed over all the affected areas between fortnightly cuts. This was done in late summer. 

This caused the Clover to grow rapidly when cut down. As it tried to regenerate over the next few lawn cutting sessions, it effectively died of exhaustion. This has greatly reduced the amount of Clover in the Lawn. A further spring treatment will be required to keep the existing Clover in Check.

Many people fail to remember that cut lawn don't reseed themselves and with the shortens of the grass, this helps broadleaf weeds establish in lawns. It is also not helped by the local soil content that often means that a low pH value is in the soil.

If you want a good lawn in the Mid Wales area, you really need to consider having Lawn Feeds along with Moss and Broadleaf Weed Treatments to help your lawn. Also to help you lawn you should also over seed the lawn. This will give it a good rich grass content.

Old Railway Station Holiday Park in New Radnor is a clients site where a whole host of grounds maintenance services are provided. It is a beautiful scenic area surrounded by hills, woods, and fields.
